Nearly four in 10 people who seriously consider suicide end up recovering long-term, achieving a mental state that’s free of suicidal symptoms or thoughts, a new Canadian study finds. Certain factors help, however: The chances of recovery are more than seven times greater when a patient has a close confidant to trust and count on, researchers from the University of Toronto reported.
Titus 2 received 4 bicycles donated from a couple of individuals, but they needed some work. Pastor Grant Powell of First Church of God of Panama City and his wife, Jennifer, are avid bicycle enthusiasts and can be seen bicycling around downtown on their tandem bike. He serviced and repaired our bikes. A bicycle rack was purchased with funds from the United Methodist Church’s Emerging Ministry Grant awarded to Titus 2 late last summer. Today the bikes were picked up from Pastor Powell and got their inaugural ride in the neighborhood. Students are excited to have this nice resource available for recreation and health. We thank God for provision of the needs of the ministry and the community for its support of the Titus 2 ministry and look forward to all that we will continue to be able to do in life recovery with women and families with life-limiting dysfunctions.
