East Bay Baptist Church’s Women’s Ministry hosted the Titus 2 ladies for a salad and pizza supper Tuesday evening, May 30, 2017 in the Fellowship Hall at the East Bay church campus on Old Bicycle Road. Four Titus 2 ladies and Program Manager arrived to a warm welcome from the ladies. After supper there was fellowship, inspiration, get-acquainted activities, testimonies, and more. Beautiful large canvas gift bags for the Titus 2 ladies had been filled with a wonderful assortment of useful items. The event was organized by Melissa Shuller, Anne Conrad, Yvette Wren and others who are building a dynamic ministry for women at East Bay Baptist. The Titus 2 ladies were grateful for the hospitality and generosity of these wonderful women, many of whom have visited the Titus 2 residence, as well.
The word “lifehack” has come to mean a cheap, quick, easy adaptation that addresses an immediate need or offers an alternative solution to something more costly and permanent. The Urban Dictionary offers this: Life hack (or life hacking) refers to any trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency in all walks of life.
Before I came to Titus 2 my life was a disaster, unstable and spinning out of control. I was there only a couple of months and the light began to shine instead of darkness for the first time in a long time. I got right with God first. Then I released my anger and let my past go. Legal issues had to be resolved. I had been waiting for a divorce for a long time. It finally came through and my maiden name was restored. I was worried about getting a driver’s license again, as I had been the victim of identity theft with a case still pending. I had been told it would cost $150 due to those legal issues, but God was good and in the end it was only $32. I began to be more engaged in listening to and talking to God and the people he had brought into my life. Little by little I was becoming myself again after years of abuse from family and others.
Members of a young adult small group from Northstar Church spent their Saturday morning this past week at Titus 2’s community residence for women helping with “spring cleaning”. The energetic team arrived early and spent the morning cleaning the yard, installing brick flower bed borders, prepping a space for a concrete pad for the residence’s trashcans, and cleaning and organizing a large upstairs closet. The improved appearance and functionality of storage space and the front yard were a wonderful gift to the women of Titus 2. The members interacted with and served side by side with the Titus 2 ladies and found common ground on which to build new friendships. This is the third year that Northstar Church members have included projects at Titus 2 in their annual outreach service day to Bay County. Titus 2 is grateful for community volunteers who help with projects and who invest time in the lives of the students in its program.
We have some big events happening this week….baptisms, graduations, and moving out into independence! These are gifts for our graduating and new believer students….The “Jesus Applauding” picture has these scriptures on the back:

Today, as a young Mother prepares to move into her refurbished home with her children, she, Cathy and another student visited the home to anoint the foundation, entry doors, foyer, living room, kitchen, bedroom areas, play area, and property perimeter with hyssop oil. Scriptures were read. Blessings were spoken over all activities of the home and special prayers were offered for those who will live and grow here and those who will visit here in the years to come! This Mother, who will be baptized Sunday and will direct the Christian growth of her children through membership and attendance at church wanted to pray God’s love, provision, and protection over her family as they begin life anew!
